- ” In every twelve there is a Judas” I think I am Judas. Lol”
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF?
My name is Isamah Chijioke A.K.A Cjay, my twin sister and I were raised by our single mom. I live in Ghana currently but I am from Nigeria, my family is back in Port harcourt, and I am from Imo state. I’m a blogger and stylist and I hope to have my own clothing line come a few years time.
WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU CREATE CONTENTS?
I am not really a content creator, but if you are talking about styling myself. I always think about how good the outfit is. Is this a good combination? am I going to wow people, or do I wanna create attention? Every outfit sends different messages to people, and I try to teach people how to rock different outfits all the while, trying as much as possible to please myself and not to get uncomfortable with what i am wearing.
WHAT DOES CREATIVITY MEAN TO YOU?
It is simply the fact that i can effortlessly combine the things I put on and wow people who get to see me.
HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?
They say if you love what you do, you should read more and get more insight about it. My really good friend always reminds me that fashion is broad and many people are doing it, and she would ask what makes you different? It is the fact that you can pick up a book or rather go online and read on this to get more information. Watch fashion shows, go out more, go to fashion events. I try as much as possible to do all these and also get time of my own to think of how to go about the styles i have discovered.
HAVE YOU FACED CHALLENGES WITH PEOPLE ACCEPTING YOUR STYLE?
I wouldn’t call it a challenge though… I know a lot of my friends that are not really into my type of fashion or rather not into fashion see my type of dressing as tomboyish and weird, the worst is my shoe collection. They don’t even go that way, most times I laugh about it because we cannot all be the same… you know the saying ” In every twelve there is a Judas” I think I am Judas. Lol.
HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH IT?
I just laugh most of the time. And also ask what they don’t like about my outfit, if I am opportuned to do that. I don’t get angry because everyone cannot accept you. This is life, that does not mean I am going to change what I am putting on because someone wants me to put on heels when I am wearing a brogue. But sometimes I look into what people say.
WHO DO YOU LOOK UP TO IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
As a fashion blogger I have always had mad love for two fashion bloggers and a few. The first person is Ada, I think her IG handle is ada_ogundatu. She is amazing with colors, her style is to kill for..you don’t know her next moves. She is creative and a big influencer. The next person would be Uzy Nwachukwu. IG handle @uzypaws, her styles are really calm and she has been my big idol, she is dedicated and she has really gone far. Proud of her, not because she is my cousin but i have been following her since she started and all i see is consistency. I just know for sure if you keep doing what you love doing, one day! You will rule a world of your own.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN YOUR INDUSTRY IN THE NEXT THREE YEARS?
By the grace of God I hope to be bigger, touching peoples lives with my styles. In three years time I would have established my own clothing line and by the grace of God and life which will be given unto me, I should be in a better place as a blogger and also have a brand of my own. It is not easy though but I am ready to take it one step at a time.
ONE POINTER TO OTHER CREATIVES OUT THERE?
Do you, don’t be pushed by what the world will say, they are a lot of critics out there. Pay attention to what you want, listen to advise don’t get your egos high and most especially know your worth!!.
