Tell us briefly about your personal and brand

My name is Awwal Mukhtar, aka Alagacabin, a native of Kwara State, the second child in a family of five, and the creative director of the brand CABINCOLLECTION. When I was a child, the fact that I always excelled in the creative aspects of school activities made me fall in love with art.

The love for fashion comes from my background seeing my dad go to work in suit or native wears, always looking sharp and it became a family thing. I started fashion designing at age 18 with the aim of adding more to life and be the important brand in people’s wardrobe.

What inspired the creation of your brand?

Cause I Am Beautiful In Nature, I don’t think I have more explanation to this, the meaning should do the talking…. Lol

Have you had an experience with an angry ?

Sure! That’s always going to happen in a business. Once in a while, you see someone not satisfied with your service. My belief is that anything can be corrected, so I pay attention to complaints and try my best to fix it. The bad experiences shouldn’t weigh you down, instead you learn from it and try not to repeat the same mistake.

What is do you think is the most difficult part of building a brand so far?

CAPITAL! I have to put it in uppercase to show its importance in the business. If you have the brain and the passion, without the start-up capital you are going no where. Another major challenge is awareness –  getting people to know what you do, fall in love with it and patronize it. You just have to put in a lot of measures to widen your customer base and thanks to social media platforms, it helps grow business a lot.

How do you stay motivated and inspired to keep working even when you are demoralised?

God has been good, for the brand to come this far. Anytime I feel demoralized I remember what made me start and the future goals. I just say to myself “I did not come this far just to come this far, I gotta keep moving cabincollection to the world!”

Well this guy is good at what he does. I’ve had one or two or more native clothes designed and made by him and I’m going to have more. He puts in his utmost focus when he’s working to bring out the perfect shape of your dress. I’ve caught him many times working so I’m not just talking randomly. Watch out for #Cabincollection as he attains greater height in fashion design.
